Bushmills Irish Whiskey and Hit TV Series Peaky Blinders Give Fans a Taste of Prohibition With New Whiskey Collaboration

Just ahead of the June 10 launch of the hit show’s highly-anticipated final season on Netflix in the US, Bushmills Prohibition Recipes will take drinkers back a hundred years at the iconic Garrison Pub run by the Shelby family. The bold and powerful flavor of the limited release is a tribute to Tommy Shelby, the infamous leader of the Peaky Blinders, and his infamous family.

The bottle, a recreation of the vintage Bushmills Irish whiskey bottle, is used as a prop within several Peaky Blinders episodes, featuring design elements such as a visible cork lid and blue-tinted glasses for the 1920s era. As a product of the Shelby Co. Ltd., the label features the family emblem with the 400-year-old distillery, located above a sketch of Tommy Shelby himself. An iconic quote, “Whiskey is good proofing water, it tells you who’s real and who isn’t” adorns the back label and symbolizes the drink’s important role within the show.

Whiskey packs a Shelby-style punch with bold, intense flavors that complement a decadent finish. The Bushmills Prohibition recipe is expertly crafted by revered master distiller, Colm Egan, to reflect age-old distiller practices in high-proof, non-chill filtered and ex-bourbon casks. For added complexity, Egan marinated the stock separately for three, four, and five years before blending them together to obtain a 92-proof expression that was bursting with the flavors of rye bread, orange marmalade, almond, and cinnamon. Aged, long and infused with zesty citrus oils. and Vanilla Bean.
